Teacher’s Guide

  1. Listen to the podcast episode first. Students can listen for character voices, story order, vocabulary words and emotions.

  2. The original script is on the final page. Students can read along with the script if that’s helpful.

  3. There are worksheets that can be filled out before, during and after listening to the podcast.

  4. The class can perform the Readers’ Theater.

  • Split up the acts so that each student gets a role or divide into smaller groups so they can read with one another.

  • Turn it into your own podcast episode by recording their voices on a computer, tablet, or phone. It doesn’t have to be perfect, but this adds to the fun!

Keep Kids… and Grandma… off the screen!

There are so many “screens” in our world today. It’s important to have screen-free time, especially for kids. Studies show that a lot of screen time in early childhood can have negative effects.

Kitten & Clucky is designed as a screen-free activity that can be enjoyed by every generation. There are many fun and productive things to do while listening. Here are some suggestions.

  • Build Legos together while listening.

  • See if the playroom can be cleaned…or the laundry folded…or take care of another project before finishing an episode.

  • Grandma can work on her needlepoint embroidery of the Kitten & Clucky logo while her grandson colors a Kitten & Clucky coloring page while listening to a Kitten & Clucky podcast.

  • What can you do while listening?
