Starting the Adventure

The idea for Kitten & Clucky came about during the start of the pandemic. Amy Daniels and her two kids listened to a podcast that only had six episodes. They listened to those episodes over and over – more times than they could count. So they began to think, if we created a podcast, what would it be about?

Amy’s daughter, Parker, had wanted a cat since she was born and her son, Corbin, had an unexplained love of chickens. In their home in Florida, they were not able to have these pets so they came up with this podcast idea to imagine the life they would have.

And so, The Kitten & Clucky Podcast was born in 2021.

Amy was looking for a creative outlet and with relocation from Florida to Washington on the horizon, it was a good time to start creating this show. Amy started out by pitching the idea to her husband Matt. For Mother’s Day 2021 he bought her a podcast recording machine and said, “I believe in you, create your show.” Amy also wanted to show Parker and Corbin that it is possible to create what you imagine if you put the work in.

Many of the stories from the episodes are reimagined tales of actual events in the Daniels’ family. As the podcast has grown the cast has grown. In 2022 Christine Rozum and her family joined the mix and have added their stories to the podcast as well.

Now Amy and Christine write the scripts together and the Rozum children, Corwin and Julian, are a regular part of the cast.

Who We Are

Amy Daniels

Creator, Writer, Producer and Audio Editor
Voices of Kitten, Clucky, Rubix and Mom

Launching the Kitten & Clucky Podcast has given Amy the freedom to create meaningful, wholesome, educational content for her children and others. Her dream now is to help educators and families explore all the fun that can be had creating the live action version of the Kitten & Clucky Podcast.

Amy created Kitten & Clucky in 2021 and after two years of growth, began partnering with her friend, Christine Rozum, a writer and talented voice actor, to bring a new life to her podcast scripts.  Amy and Christine also worked together to create an elementary theater class, Cluck, Meow Action, where they brought Kitten & Clucky to life for the Lacamas Lake Elementary School in Camas, Washington.

Her communications, teaching and theater background provided the perfect experience for Kitten & Clucky. Amy graduated from Pacific Lutheran University with a BA degree, major in communications and a minor in theater.  She worked in the dental industry providing training for multiple software products. What started as in-office training evolved when she was invited to pilot a program providing remote training sessions. Her skill and professionalism led to further opportunities when Amy was also asked to participate in the creation of training videos which included video capturing, writing scripts and recording voice-overs. This reawakened her desire for performing outside of a clinical setting.

Amy has performed in and managed theater productions in high school, college and community theater. Her varied experience has helped her develop clear enunciation and vocal variety.

Christine Rozum

Co-Writer since 2023
Voices of Feral, Tatum, Piper, Bruce, Victoria Peckum and Chip

Originally from Toronto, as of summer 2022 Christine has called Camas, Washington, home. She loves all aspects of theater both on stage and off and has always dabbled in theater from elementary school onward in varying capacities.

Christine received her first degree in fine art with a minor in arts administration. She then pursued a second degree in International Hospitality Management in Rhode Island while also acting in Agatha Christie’s 10 Little Indians and then becoming the director of the Theatre Arts Club and directing her first show. When she returned to Toronto, Christine launched her own wedding consulting business and fine-tuned her skills in event planning.

She is grateful to have found a kindred spirit, a yin to her yang, in Amy Daniels, to nurture and grow her creative aspirations. Christine is very excited to encourage and grow a love and passion to theater to a new generation of kids.

Parker Daniels

Voices of Maddow, Bridget, Bella & Brigitta

At age 10, Parker began to voice the characters of Maddox, Bridget, Bella and Brigitta.  When she started Bridget & Bella were very hard to tell apart but over the episodes her talents have grown along with her.

“Kitten & Clucky has become such an incredible part of my life over the past five years,” Parker reflects on being part of the cast. “The hens and I have been through a lot together and I love being part of this podcast. The episode I probably favor the most is Class Pet, the one with S’mores. It helped me process the real-life story of when I brought the class Guinee pig, S’mores, home for the weekend and he escaped into the pond.”

Corbin Daniels

Voices of Xander, Severus D. Snake, Brownie, Lemon and, coming soon, Link

Corbin was just seven years old when he first voiced Xander, Clucky’s owner. Although Xander is not featured in all the episodes, Corbin is the first to volunteer for any sound effects needed. He has an uncanny ability to make explosion noises and strange voices.

He is especially proud of making the zombie fire effect in Season 4, Episode 3, Comin’ Down the Mountain, and the voice of Lemon, a disgruntled angora rabbit on the run in the Lemon-aide Escape episode.

Matt Daniels

Voices of Dad, S’mores, Captain Jack, Sensei Chew and Oscar

Matt is a partner in a global physics group but takes time out of his busy travel schedule to be silly with all of us.  He has always believed in Amy’s vision for Kitten & Clucky.

When Amy approached him with the idea of starting the podcast he bought her a Rode Caster (fancy podcast recorder) for Mother’s Day and said, “Create your show!”
